About a year ago President Trump tried to end DACA, ( a program established by President Obama), Pres. Trump’s effort to end DACA and was overruled by the Courts of Appeals. Recently, he stated he would terminate Temporary Protection Status.

President Trump has been trying to cut all legal immigration, planned to end the 20 years old TPS program, and threatened to terminate it.

On October 28, 2019, in a negotiation with the President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele, the United States government granted an extension for 200,000 citizens of El Salvador who have been living in the country under temporary protected status (TPS).

Salvadoran TPS Holders will continue to be eligible to work legally in the country and most importantly, they will be kept safe from deportation.
